Hi All -- I have lurked long enough and just joined this great league. About me: my interest in VW busses was originally one of envy. I'm halfway to owning a bus that runs -- I own a 1978 Westy now, it's just the RUNNING part that needs work. But I hope that changes within the next few months. My husband and I are both teachers -- which leaves the summer free for camping (but we're not ready to attempt the restoration part). We have a 3 year old and a 5 year old -- both of which keep asking when the green bus will be ready. It's quite endearing
I'm looking for help from anyone in the Toledo area who works on busses and wants to be paid to reassemble my 1978 Westy get it back up and running!
Loved looking at the Kelley's island pics. I have been in touch with Gerry from Fort Wayne who attended -- he said he had a blast. |

Welcome Postagurl!!
Hope you can get your bus on the road and enjoy some camping next year. We have several members with younger kids too (my son will be seven soon enough) that all play at campouts.
I see your looking for help.....post some pictures of your project or what you need done and where you live......might be someone near you that can help.
Good luck and see you soon! _________________ 1960 Westfalia SO23

You may want to try Todd aka user id "Bastardbus" he's in Toledo and works on other people vehicles from time to time. I know he's working on a project for himself so he may not have the time but it's worth a try. _________________ Long Live The Legend of "Stupid Guy" |

WELCOME Postagurl and Family! You came to the right place for help! Get yourself a Bentley Manual and John Muir's "Dummies" book if you don't already have them. Hope to meet y'all at an upcoming event! _________________ "I'm a penny waiting for change".

Welcome. Like Kirk says, post some pics of your Westy, and what all needs done to complete it. I'm sure we can find you some help.

|
|
So I have photos to load but don't quite know where to put them -- How do I add them to a post? Do I have to have them somewhere in cyberspace and then reference the URL in the post? I have heard from 2 Jims in Columbus about working on the bus. Still awaiting some Northwestern Ohio shoutouts!
Any suggestions on loading photos would be great. And how do I get a photo next to my name on the left side of my posts?
Thanks in advance for the newbie question answers! |

There is a post somewhere on this forum with step by step instructions on how to post pictures. You do need to have somewhere in cyberspace to put them first, many use photobucket. It is then a copy and paste operation into your post. This had to be explained to me at least twice. Maybe Kirk or Howie can find this old post and move it to FAQ. _________________ 61 SO23 westy
